Abstract: The present investigation was done for development and optimizationof biodegradation procedure for tannin rich agro residues. Aspergillus niger was used for bioconversion of tannins to gallic acid. For bioconversio agroresidues which are high in tannins were used. Bioconversion was done by using submerged fermentation process. After fermentation process the gallic acid was separated by solvent extraction method. The tannase and gallic acid was measured by colorimetric method. Study developed submerged fermentation process for the biodegradation of tannin rich aggro-residues.
